The inaugural Gold Coast Elite Sports Conference will bring together emerging & elite athletes, sports administrators, sports coaches, educators, support staff and businesses involved in the wider sporting community at one of the Gold Coast’s Premier Resorts.

Our selected group of speakers will provide a unique insight into Elite Sport with some of their personal experiences, stories and strategies across a wide range of topics including – Social Media, Marketing & Branding, Sponsorship, Wellbeing, Working with Elite Teams and Organisations, Coaching & Mentoring and Life as a Professional Athlete.

The day will include our Conference, followed by a Cocktail Event in the evening that will provide endless opportunities to mingle with Athletes, Business Owners & CEO’s and guests from the Gold Coast Sporting Community.

Speakers

Joel Parkinson     Joel Parkinson  is a 12-time World Tour winner and the 2012 WSL World Champion.  The Gold Coast local was the youngest surfer to win a Billabong event on the World stage.  Parkinson's post-career includes the start up of the famous Balter Brewing Company.  He will discuss the ups and downs of elite sport and his transition since retiring.

Andrej Lemanis    Andrej Lemanis  is the current Head Coach of the Australian Boomers & the Brisbane Bullets in the NBL.  Renowned as one of Australia’s best Sports Coaches, Andrej will share his insights, experiences and lessons in Coaching & Mentoring Elite Athletes.  A former professional basketball player, Andrej has coached multiple Championship Titles and has twice been named NBL Coach of the Year.

Danielle Smith    Danielle Smith  is   the CEO of the successful Sunshine Coast Lightning. Danielle is also a board director with Melbourne Storm and has held the roles of Chief Operating Officer and CFO. She relocated to Queensland to take on the task of setting up the Suncorp Super Netball’s expansion team in late 2016.  Incredibly, the organisation has won back-to-back titles in it’s first two seasons and Danielle will discuss how in limited time, they put together a championship franchise

Duncan Free    Duncan Free OAM  is an Olympic Gold Medalist, representing Australia at 4 x Olympic Games.  Duncan now spends his time committed to supporting student athletes and helps provide unique mentoring and support for those that need assistance as the Director of the Griffith Sports College.

Mat Rogers    Mat Rogers  was   the 42nd dual-code international in Australian sporting history.  The former Kangaroos and Wallabies star is the founder of 4 ASD KIDS, that assists families of children battling with an Autism Spectrum Disorder to access early intervention treatment giving these kids the best chance at leading a normal life

Wade is an Exercise Physiologist with a strong focus in the rehabilitation and exercise prescription of athletes in high performance sports.  Wade’s strength is in understanding each athlete as a whole. He is passionate about athlete coach communication and athlete wellbeing.
